Telkom Kenya home WI-FI Deals and how to get Connected.

 Telkom Home is a product that connects homes  with super fast uninterrupted 4G internet.
This product targets heavy internet users who would like to stream movies, shows or connect to the internet for whatever reason and is a great alternative to fixed internet including fiber home internet.
Telkom Kenya are working hard to regain it's position in the Kenyan telecommunications space that has been largely dominated by Safaricom, and in order to remain competitive it has had to come with some of the best Data deals in the country only rivaled by Airtel and faiba.
Telkom home is a great product for homes or Small offices, and for businesses there is a different product for them known as Telkom business.
If you are living in a Telkom LTE zone, then you can get unlimited internet connectivity at affordable prices.

What you need to enjoy Telkom home plans.
If you are a new subscriber, then all you need is a 4G enabled router. The router will come with:
  • A 4G SIM card on home profile.(you cannot access home plans on your normal Telkom SIM unless you visit a Telkom shop to be converted to home plan)
  • 10 GB free data bundles valid for the first one month.
If you already have a Telkom router, then you will need to get a 4G SIM card under Home profile.
Those on home talk can directly buy the new bundles but for better experience should ensure both their router and SIM are 4G enabled.
Telkom has two great routers:
 Telkom 4G mifi which is a portable wireless internet router capable of connecting up to 15 users at a go.

Then there's  Telkom CPE router which is a heavy duty router. It can connect up to 32 users through either WiFi, LAN or both.

Currently there is a limited offer where a new subscriber to this service gets a Telkom 4G CPE router at a cost of Ksh. 9,999.
It comes with 10Gb data valid for one month.
If you get the 10 GB welcome bones as a new Telkom home subscriber then at the expiry of the free data you will need to purchase data either daily, weekly, monthly or 90 day bundles.

Telkom home internet plans are available in either daily, weekly, monthly unlimited or 90 day validity plans as indicated below:
  • Daily 5 GB at Ksh. 250
  • Monthly 12GB at Ksh. 1,000.
  • Monthly 30GB- Ksh. 2,000.
  • Monthly 50GB Ksh. 3,000
  • Unlimited daily 13.3 GB FUP- Ksh. 4,000.
  • Unlimited Plus daily 16.6 GB FUP- Ksh. 5,500.
  • 90 day 100GB- Ksh. 6,000.
If you exhaust your bundle plan you have to purchase a new one. Otherwise you will be charged at a flat rate of Ksh. 2 Bob per Mb.
For the monthly unlimited, you can browse at full speeds up to 4Gb per day, up to 6Gb at 1 mbps and 512 kbps if you exceed 6Gb per day.
This means  the unlimited plan gives you up to 120 GB of data per month on full speed, and you can exceed this but at a slower rate.
Closely compared with the Freedom bundles  Telkom home plans seems a little cheaper.
For Ksh.2999, Telkom home gives you 36 GB monthly while for the same amount and validity period freedom bundles gives 35 GB.

How to subscribe for Telkom home unlimited data plans
Apart from a 4G Telkom router, you are also required to have a 4g sim card, different from your mobile phone Sim card.
To register kindly visit your nearest Telkom Kenya shop.
To purchase a bundle of your choice:
  •  Top up using Telkom Kenya scratch cards or m-pesa pay bill number 220220 and enter your home data number as your account number.
  • Or visit http://myaccount.telkom.co.ke/.
  • Once your account has been credited, diall *222# from your Telkom mobile number or visit your nearest Telkom Shop.
  • You can as well call Telkom care at 100 for assistance.
Please note that all the above home plan bundles are prepay and subscribers can enjoy other Telkom Kenya services like calls at ksh.4 a minute and SMS at 1 Bob a minute.
If you don't use all your data before the expiry of your data plan, the remaining bundles won't be rolled over to the next period. However, if you buy a new plan before the expiry of the existing plan,the bundles will be summed up with the new ones.
