Telkom freedom bundles is one of a kind service offered by Telkom Kenya, the third largest telecommunications provider in the country after Safaricom and Airtel Kenya.
The service which was unveiled in october 2017,gifts Telkom Kenya subscribers with free WhatsApp, and free on net calls upon purchase of a data bundle.
 It also allows you call other networks at Ksh.3.30 per minute which is slightly  lower than normal calling rates in the country.
Telkom bundles,commonly known as freedom bundles, are way cheap compared to what other telco providers give, making these offers unmatched.
For example, while Safaricom gives a weekly 100 Mb for Ksh. 50, Telkom gives you 200 Mb weekly for the same price.
 If you don't have a Telkom line by now, then you should seriously consider going for one, especially if you are a 4 G user. Telkom has been doing serious promotions on  this product which seems to be targeting the youth, especially those in colleges, who are a majority social media users.

  1. The data bundles are cheaper as compared to those offered by other telco service providers. Sometimes you get double the data for a similar price and validity as shown above.
  2. Upon subscribing to a data plan of your choice, you get free on net calls up to 60 minutes daily for the entire validity period of your plan. You also get to call other networks at Ksh. 3.30 per minute.

  4. You don't need any special USSD to purchase, just dial *544# and select your preferred data plan.
How to purchase Telkom freedom bundles.
On your Telkom sim dial *544# and select option 2,'data bundles'. You then can choose from daily,weekly or monthly subscription as given below:

You can also buy the data bundles directly on 'my Telkom app'. Go to internet options, choose from the daily, weekly or monthly data plans then select your preferred bundle as listed. If you also go to my Telkom app, you data balance is automatically displayed.
How to check Telkom data balance.
To check your data balance, dial *131# and all your Telkom balance will be displayed including airtime, data and ziada points.
Note that:
  1. Most freedom bundles come with free Telkom to Telkom calls up to a maximum of 60 minutes per day auto renewed daily and free whatsup up to 50 mb per day. 
  2. If you subscribe to another bundle similar to the existing one or to a higher one before the existing bundle expire,all the remaining data is automatically rolled over to the new plan. But if your plan expires before you exhaust all your data,then you cannot roll over when you buy another plan.
  3. As of now, you cannot transfer (zambaza) Telkom Kenya data bundles to another number.
  4. You also earn Ziada Points when you buy any Telkom data.
You can also track your freedom data usage, check balance or top up and buy data directly from your online Telkom account athttp://www.myaccount.telkom.co.ke.
To use Telkom online services you have to first register by imputing your Telkom number and choose your pin.
