 Safaricom M-tiba is a revolutionary healthcare mobile platform that allows registered Safaricom users access healthcare services at selected clinics countrywide.

Launched December 2015, M-tiba is a mobile centric platform that seeks to provide better coordination of Healthcare services between the payers, patients and providers.

The platforms allows it's users to set funds aside for healthcare, froma low as Ksh.10 to any amount they wish to.

Funds stored on the M-tiba account are managed by UAP insurance, and can only be used to pay for medical expenses at specific facilities which carry the M-tiba logo.

With M-tiba you can:

  • Access healthcare conviniently at any partner clinic.
How to register for M-tiba.
This services is available to anyone above 18 years and is a registered Safaricom user.  The registration process is quite simple and free, all you need is a registered Safaricom Sim and a valid ID card or passport.
Theire are a number of ways you can register:
  • By Using USSD code *253#.
  • At an M-tiba Agent.
  • At any of the facilities with the M-tiba logo.
  • By dialling the toll free line 0800721253.
How to deposit funds to your M-tiba account.
After successfully registering on the platform, you can easily deposit funds to your M-tiba account through the M-Pesa platform at no cost.
  • Go to your M-Pesa menu and select Lipa Na M-Pesa.
  • Select the Paybill option.
  • Enter the M-tiba Paybill number 300066 followed by 'MTIBA' as the account number.
  • Enter the amount you want to deposit followed by your M-Pesa pin.
  • Confirm your transaction details then press OK to complete the transfer.
  • You will receive an SMS confirmation message.
How to pay for healthcare using M-tiba.
As stated earlier, M-tiba services are available at selected healthcare providers who carry the M-tiba logo.
To pay for the service:
  • Go to an M-tiba facility
  • Dial *253# on your mobile phone.
  • Enter your M-tiba pin.
  • Press 1 to select 'Get treatment's
  • Enter the till number of the provider
  • Press OK to complete the payment.
M-tiba has hugely lessen the healthcare burden of most households in the country especially to the low income earners who don't have a regular income.
