List of Licensed Digital Lenders In Kenya.

The Central Bank Of Kenya have released a list of Licensed Digital lenders in the country, a move that now gives full regulatory powers of Mobile based Landers to CBK as required by law.

The industry as remained largely unregulated in the country, but after the CBK Alteration Bill, 2021 was passed, various Government agencies have been working to ensure proper regulation framework and policies are put in place.

Following this all mobile loan lenders we're required to apply for operation permits by September 1st 2021. 

By this time, CBK received 288 applications, a clear indication that there are hundreds of Mobile loan lenders in the country. Out of these, only 10 have been cleared to carry on with their operations.

These are:

Getcash Capital Limited,
Giando Africa Limited,
Jijenge Credit Limited,
Kweli Smart Solutions Limited,
Mwanzo Credit Limited,
MyWagepay Limited,
Rewot Ciro Limited,
Sevi Innovation Limited
Sokohela Limited.

According to CBK, other applications are at different stages of the licensing process and we could therefore see the list grow in the following days.
