Safaricom introduces Maisha Ni M-PESA Tu campaign to reward M-Pesa users.

One of the main reasons that have seen Safaricom remain a leader in Kenya's Telecommunications Industry is its use of robust promotions, which seem to be broadly categorized in two categories; 'Shinda mamili', where customers win various prices with a jackpot of Cash money and 'Shinda nyumba' where apart from various prices, the jackpot is winning a house.
That is why just weeks after the end of Shinda Mamili Na Tunukiwa Promotion, Safaricom have launched another promotion; 'Maisha Ni M-PESA TU Campaign'.

What are eligible services?
Safaricom intends to reward its customers for using the following mpesa services:
  • Sending and/or receiving money on m-pesa
  • Paying utility bills
  • Carrying out M-pesa to bank or sacco transactions excluding KCB mpesa
  • Carrying out international money transaction with M-pesa.
Please not that buying airtime or data using M-pesa is not part of the campaign, or sending and receiving money from other networks.

How To Participate In The Campaign.
All registered M-pesa users are eligible to participate in this promotion except those that might have legal issues with safaricom.
To be part of the promotion, just do any one of the above listed transactions from a minimum of Ksh. 100 and above. For every Ksh. 100 you transact, you get 10 points, meaning if you transact Ksh.500 you earn 50 points.
To check how many points you have accumulated for a given period of time diall *444*0# and select option 2 as shown below.

How To win.
As a participant of this campaign you can win in two ways, either through surprise rewards including cash prizes airtime or data, or through daily or weekly draws as indicated below:
  1. Daily Ksh.100 cash prize winners, 6000 from each of the 8 regions in Kenya.
  2. Daily Ksh. 200 cash prize winners, 400 from each of the 8 regions.
  3. Weekly Ksh. 1000 cash prize winners, 100 from each region.
  4. Weekly Ksh.5,000 cash prize winners, 20 from each region
  5. Weekly Ksh. 10,000 cash prize winners, 10 from each region
  6. One winner from every region will win a house every week.
If you win any cash prize, it will be send directly to your line, and you won't necessarily need anyone to call you to notify you that you've won. However, if you receive a call from 0722000000, then know that you are a lucky winner of a house. So don't entertain any SMS or calls from other numbers because you will be entertaining con men.
For the surprise rewards, M-pesa gives you a weekly target, and once you reach this target you will receive an SMS telling you t dial *444*0# to redeem your surprise reward.
Please note that this campaign will run for a period of 70 days, starting from June 18 to august 20 2018. Whether safaricom will extend this period or not, is not a matter of concern right now.

My parting word?
From the way this campaign has been structured, it is clear that safaricom intends to reward it's customers for carrying out mpeasa transactions that directly benefit safaricom and not other companies, a move which might not go down well for Airtel Money and Telkom Kenya's T-Kash.
Its timing is also critical, and while the others are making loud noises about 'mambo ni nyweee' Safaricom is reminding you that you can win when you stick with them.
The other two might just have to sit and watch or try to come up with there own promotions to counter this.

The Hidden Ceiling: Why Your Airtel "Unlimited" 5G Suddenly died at 300GB

You did everything right. You had a compatible 5G phone, an eligible prepaid plan, and you claimed your "Unlimited 5G Data" offer. For weeks, you enjoyed blazing-fast speeds, downloading, streaming, and gaming without a care in the world. Then, around the 300GB mark, it happened. The warp-speed connection vanished. You're left with sluggish speeds, or worse, your 5G connection reverts entirely to 4G/LTE. The problem isn't a technical glitch, nor is it a random network failure. It's a carefully crafted policy known as the Fair Usage Policy (FUP), and it's the invisible hand throttling your internet access. 🤯 The Truth: "Unlimited" Doesn't Mean Infinite The sudden death of your high-speed 5G service is the direct consequence of Airtel enforcing a hidden data cap, which they have now clarified in their terms and conditions, largely following directives from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Here is the simple, painful reason your 5G...
