Poa internet is one of the fastest growing fixed internet providers in the country, providing affordable unlimited home internet and street wifi hotspot internet in various parts of the country.
It's close competitors include Safaricom Home, Zuku fibre and JTL'S faiba.
Having started it's operations since 2017, POA comes fourth after JTL according to the Fourth quarter Sector Statistics Report for the financial year 2019/2020(April-June), Safaricom leading with 207, 398 subscribers followed by Zuku with 201,605 then JTL with 118,493 subscribers making a 19.1% market share. POA comes forth with 54,831 subscribers commanding a 8.8 % market share.
Considering that this is quite a new entrant and the limited areas it operated in then, POA internet is now boasting of over 50,000 homes connected and over 40,000 street wifi hotspots with over 60,000 users.
Unlike the Telco Giants, POA decided to use a different business model and ventured where no other could have imagined of. POA started it's services in Kibera and Kawangware, places no other Telco could think of starting their venture.
As compared to other internet provider POA has a number of advantages which include:
- Highly affordable price. POA offers a single internet package of up to 5Mbps for just Ksh.1,575 per month. Zuku's cheapest package is 10 Mbps for Ksh.2,799, while Safaricom's cheapest plan is 15 Mbps for Ksh.2999.
- POA internet has no hidden charges or extra payments. All you need is a one off installation fee of 2500 a fair price from the Ksh.7,000 it charged initially.
