Samsung Galaxy S20+ Plus price in Kenya and Full Phone Specifications.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ Plus price in Kenya and Specifications
Launched February 2020, the Samsung Galaxy S20+ is still a good flagship device with a current retail price of Ksh. 85,999, a huge drop from it's initial asking price of Ksh. 120,000. The huge price drop is largely attributed to the recently Launched Samsung Galaxy S21 Series which are already Available in the country.

Being part of the Galaxy S20 Series, the S20 Plus is an improvement of the S20 with slightly better specs than both the S20 and S20FE, but slightly lower than the S20 Ultra which is the most advanced and expensive of the Galaxy S20 Series.

It features a 6.7 inch Dynamic AMOLED panel with QHD Display resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels. This is the same display quality as the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 11 and , Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra making the S20+ one of the best display Smartphones Currently available in the market.

Other smartphones with impressive displays include the OnePlus 8 Series, the Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 10, Huawei P40 and the iPhone 12 Pro as well as the iPhone 12 Pro Max. All feature QHD displays with high resfresh rates as well as high brightness levels with a number of them having maximum possible levels of eye protection. This is why sometimes it pays to invest in a flagship device if you can.

The Galaxy S20 Plus has a prominent rectangular look with smoothly rounded corners and made of Gorilla Glass 6 both front and back with an aluminum frame which ensures maximum durability. The latest Xiaomi Mi 11 and Galaxy S21 Ultra features Gorilla Glass Victus the best in it's line.

To ensure further security, the S20+ is IP68 rated making it dust resistant as well as water resistant up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. However this doesn't mean you should intentionally drop your phone in water, but should exercise caution and take good care of your highly priced phone.

It also supports a number of payment options in countries where these are available including Samsung pay both Visa and MasterCard.

While the US version of this phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, the one you will buy in Kenya and pretty elsewhere outside the US features the 7nm+ Exynos 990. This is the same processor in all other Galaxy S20 phones including the much cheaper Galaxy S20FE.

Combined with 8GB RAM, the Galaxy S20+ is a powerhouse able to handle any task you throw at it with ease, be it multitasking, heavy graphic gaming or high resolution media playback.

It comes with Android 10 out of the box and is expected to receive Android 11 One UI 3.1 based update anytime soon.

There's currently a huge debate of which is better between the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and the S20 Plus, and while we're also working hard to find the perfect answer all we can tell you now is that the Galaxy S20 Plus is a phone that scores in every aspect 'smartphone', and is a phone you'll be proud of if you can get hold of one.

It features a Tripple rear camera arrangement with a primary 12MP main camera, a 64MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens. While many don't feel there's much camera upgrade from the previous S10 series, the phone still produces decent studio quality photos with better low-light performance.

Pricing And Competition.

The 8 + 128GB Samsung Galaxy S20+ is available for Ksh. 85,999 at Jumia Kenya, while Priceinkenya is selling the same for Ksh. 75,999, 10k much cheaper.

The phone has got no noticeable Competitors currently in the country, with the S21+ costing way much higher with almost the same specs if not less.

The closest Competitor to this phone would have been the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 11 with an expected price of Ksh. 74,999. But till now both phones are not yet Available in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy S20FE is seen as one of the best alternatives to the S20+ with a current price of Ksh. 63,449. However you will have to do with a 1080p display instead of the 1440p in this phone, a plastic back and a slightly smaller screen of 6.5 inch instead of the 6.7 inch in the S20+. You can also consider other mid-range devices including the Nokia 8.3.
